For more than six decades, the Wilcox Ranch protected the ancient archaeological sites in what is now Range Creek Canyon, east of East Carbon (25 miles southeast of Price). Since the family turned the property over to the government, the public has been allowed pedestrian and horseback access by requesting visitor permits online at the Natural History Museum of Utah website. The website also lists three partners offering tours in Range Creek.
