The sudden death of Diego Maradona has promoted an outpouring of grief in his home province of Buenos Aires, and adopted city of Naples — where he was an honorary citizen after transforming the fortunes of football club Napoli SSC in the 1980s. The Argentine soccer player, who is considered the greatest of all time, passed away on Wednesday, November 25 from cardiac arrest. He was 60 years-old.
"You took us to the top of the world. You made us immensely happy. You were the greatest of all," Argentine president Alberto Fernandez wrote on social media. "Thanks for having existed, Diego."
