Sunsuron Guritom

Sabah

Partially eroded by the elements, the stone skull topping this squat stone container, resembling a postbox, gives a clue as to its past use. Back in Sunsuron's headhunting days, the Dusun warriors would display the severed heads of the vanquished on top of the box before interring them inside and bringing out the remains to strike fear into the hearts of visitors to the village.
