About Shoroq
I'm an Egyptian mum, writer and aspiring potter. I grew up in a small town along the Nile where I began writing about everyday life in Egypt. I've spent the last five years discovering my homeland by foot, traveling through the Nile Delta and roaming all over Cairo. Wherever I go, I ask people the same simple question: “How do you spend your day?” The stories are endless. I now live by the Red Sea and spend most of my days in the water with my daughter and husband, counting my blessings.
