About Peter

Since 2006 I've worked on well over 100 Lonely Planet titles and written numerous articles for the LP website. I've been lucky enough to work on a diverse range of titles, including some of our most high-profile books (New Zealand, Australia, Croatia, Venice, London, Sydney etc). I've written first edition titles (Montenegro, Pocket Dubrovnik), walking guides, Best Ofs, Road Trips, Pocket, City, Region, Country and Multi-Country guides. I've also curated many of these books, and contributed to lots of T&R titles. The reason I've had such a variety of work is that I am seen as both an excellent writer and as a safe, dependable set of hands who could pick up any assignment and do a good job of it – and deliver it to brief and on time.

Before LP I worked for various newspapers and magazines: as a music, arts, food and culture writer, as an editor and in management. Since COVID struck I've been busy writing travel stories for New Zealand's two biggest newspaper publishers and a new travel magazine.
