About Michael
I'm a writer and photographer with years of experience creating stories and images from around the world. In addition to my guidebook work for Lonely Planet (since 2009), I've authored three non-fiction books, I've written and shot for major publications, and my images have been featured in exhibitions at museums in New York and New Delhi. I love to travel well off the beaten path, I love maps, and I have a particular interest in nomadic cultures. With a background as a wilderness instructor in mountain and desert environments, I eagerly take on any project that involves trekking or camping or other adventurous pursuits. I'm drawn to the beliefs a For Lonely Planet, I have devoted myself to working on the India guidebook for the last five editions, and hope to continue doing so, as well as covering other destinations (I've also worked on USA and Egypt titles in the past).
