About Helen
Although born in the UK, I’ve spent most of my life in Africa – living first in Cape Town, South Africa; and then Fez, Morocco. Now my life has changed direction and I’m happily ensconced in southwestern France. Destinations for Lonely Planet have included Madagascar, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea, as well as South Africa and Morocco. In 2023, I got my first European gig for LP covering the Dordogne in France. When not writing, I love sharing my knowledge of Morocco to plan personalized itineraries.
