About Greg
I divide my work time between travel writing and editing technical reports for international organizations. Free time is spent with family and – when I have time - playing tennis, hockey (where possible), and Ultimate frisbee. I've made the Philippines my home but I return often to the former Soviet Union, including short-term stints as a media consultant in Ukraine and as a journalist trainer in Central Asia. I've contributed to Lonely Planet guides to Ukraine, Russia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Moldova and the Baltics. My travel focus these days is very much on slow travel and sustainable travel - even more so in the wake of the pandemic.
