I live right in the city center of Bangkok with all the conveniences around me and I love it, but whenever I get a chance to travel, I always choose a remote island life (no camping or homestay, though; I still want that convenience!). My first writing job was a "Nightlife Writer" for a Bangkok-based online lifestyle publication, so you can count on me to know the spot in Bangkok that serves the best Vesper Martini.
