About Annika
Annika Hipple is a freelance writer and photographer whose passions include sustainable travel, wildlife conservation, and history. Raised bilingual and bicultural, she divides her time between her two home countries, the United States and Sweden, and is an expert on Scandinavia. She is also fluent in Spanish and has traveled extensively in Latin America, including a college semester in Ecuador and master’s research in Mexico City.
In addition to writing for a wide range of publications, Annika has been a freelance tour director for more than two decades, leading trips to destinations across the globe including Patagonia, Cuba, Morocco, Egypt, India, Mongolia, Japan, New Zealand, and numerous destinations in Europe and North America. An avid Cuban-style salsa dancer, she also enjoys hiking, kayaking, reading, and music from around the world.
