About Anna
Anna Mindess is an award-winning freelance writer specializing in the intersection of travel, food and culture. She has over 200 published articles. She often features the stories of immigrants and her piece on 1951 Coffee Company, a refugee-run cafe, was awarded 1st place by AFJ, the Association of Food Journalists. Anna also works as an American Sign Language interpreter and is the author of a classic book in the field, Reading Between the Signs, which has been translated into French, Chinese and Hungarian.
