Lonely Planet Experiences are a new way to explore the world

For decades travellers have reached for Lonely Planet books when looking to plan and execute their perfect trip, but now, they can also let Lonely Planet Experiences lead the way.
As part of a new partnership with Intrepid Travel, Lonely Planet Experiences will take travellers on more than 300 sustainable and carbon-neutral group tours around the world.
The experiences will comprise of 200 day-tours operated by Intrepid Travel's day tour company, Urban Adventures, covering street food, street art, beer, history and more in the world’s best-loved cities. These adventures range from niche experiences, such as a pork and bacon tour of Toronto, or exploring the communist history of Bucharest, to the highlights of Rome of Japan’s most famous fish market.
Through Intrepid Travel, travellers can take more than 130 multi-day trips, covering activities from cycling, food, festivals, family and marine adventures. The tours will be made up of small groups – no more than 16 people – and lead by a local leader. All of the tours are designed to have a low environmental impact as well as contribute to local communities. Travellers will have full freedom to explore, with additional insight from local guides. Lonely Planet Experiences are for travellers who want to go back to basics and recapture the excitement of discovering a destination for themselves.
