Researchers using DNA extracted from an ancient skull discovered in the Ethiopian highlands have revealed that there was a mass movement of humans back into Africa from Eurasia around 3000 years ago, some 57,000 years after the mass migration off the continent.

The scientists, who published their findings in the journal Science, believe that up to 25% of modern Africans’ DNA can be traced back to this event. Read more: bbc.co.uk
