Welcome to Friday Around the Planet, a roundup of some of the travel-related news and inspiration you might have missed over the past week.

I'm excited to head to Moab, Utah this weekend to check out Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. The spots have long been on my "to hike" list and I'm eager to report back to you about how the parks are preparing for the busy summer season.
