With children out of school and at home thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, many parents are finding it hard to keep them entertained. Disney has come to the rescue by launching a new website filled with free activities for both children and adults to enjoy.
Disney Magic Moments is a dedicated site that allows viewers to enjoy Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and National Geographic from home, with stories, videos and activities designed to inspire imagination and discovery. In an effort to bring the magic of Disney to children in new ways, viewers can draw along with the livestreamed "Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems" tutorials, take in a virtual viewing of the “Magic Happens” parade from the Disneyland Resort, and sing along with the Dapper Dans. Budding artists can learn to draw Olaf with the help of Disney Animation, and viewers can watch videos of theme-park employees performing beloved Disney songs.
For some added musical fun, viewers can check out the JAMMitors, everyone’s favorite funky group of janitors-turned-percussionists. This group would normally be found sharing their syncopated sounds at Epcot using all sorts of different items they find around the park, but are now sharing their #VoicesFromHome activities using pots and pans, trash cans and even an old tyre. The new site also offers virtual rides, and there are dance-themed workout videos to help keep everyone fit as well as recordings of Disney stars such as John Stamos and Ming-Na Wen reading children's books. Little fans of Frozen will enjoy watching the new digital series, "At Home with Olaf."
