The latest proposal to allow large cruise ships to visit Venice without causing damage to its delicate lagoon is a £100 million artificial island terminal located in the Adriatic at the entrance to the lagoon. Cruise ships would dock at the terminal, and their passengers would be carried into Venice by a fleet of catamarans. Read more: telegraph.co.uk
